Mefenamic acid BP 500 mg / tablet.
Forte is a non-steroidal agent with demonstrated anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties. It was found to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
It is used in mild to moderate pain including headache, dental pain, postoperative and post partum pain and dysmenorrhoea. It is used also in musculoskeletal and joint disorders such as osteoarthritis and rheumatiod arthritis, in menorrhagia, and in juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to mefenamic acid, aspirin, or other NSAIDs.
Posology and method of administration:
When it is to be taken: Mefenamic acid is taken every six hours as necessary. Follow the instructions on your prescription label.
- Diarrhea. Contact your doctor if this problem is severe.
- Stomach upsets like nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and decreased appetite are seen.Take mefenamic acid with food.
- Blurred vision, change in color vision, eye or ear pain, skin rash, hives, bloody or tarry stools, difficulty breathing, sore throat, fever. Contact your doctor.
